Color Combos

Lately specific color combos will stick with me.  Sometimes they are colors I never would have put together.  Orange is one color that I normally do not use, probably because the color is anything but flattering to my fair skin complexion. But surprisingly, the unexpected will produce an amazing result! For reference, the colors listed are Close to My Heart exclusive ink colors. For an interesting color duo, try Sunflower (light/bright orange) and Hollyhock (medium/bright pink).  Here's a card I made using this combo: For a three color combo, try Autumn Terracota (deep orange), Olive (muted medium green), and Cocoa (deep brown).  Here are two cards I made using this combo:

MFT Sketch Challenge #379

When I first saw the latest sketch for MFT's sketch challenge, I knew what stamp set I wanted to use and how I wanted the card to look.  It isn't often that an idea translates easily to reality, so I was pleased with how my card turned out.  Here's my finished card for the challenge. This is the original sketch, the one that everyone works from to create a card for the challenge. The next 30 Day Coloring Challenge by the Daily Marker

For those of you that use Instagram, have you ever heard of the 30 day coloring challenge?  It's a challenge run by The Daily Marker aka Kathy Rac.  You can find her on Instagram here: @kathyrac . The goal of the challenge is to color each day for 30 days, even if you just spend a small amount of time, like 15 to 30 minutes.  You don't have to complete any specific project.  Just color.  The purpose is to find time for yourself, to relax and unwind, to feel free.  Coloring has been equated to meditating and meditating has great benefits for the mind, the body, and the soul.  In the past I kept missing out on the challenge, seeing everyone's posts on instagram.  So this time I got the heads up as a follower of The Daily Marker.  I knew I wanted to color stamped images during the majority of the challenge, but I didn't want to spend time each day stamping and cutting out images to color.  So I decided to do a little prep work....
